First of all let me tell you how i got this: My COMPAQ first came with the XG50 128 voice hardwar e on my sound card. After playing Final Fantasy VII, i was like, "All right I think I'll upgrade to the 70!" Big mistake, or fortunate one? Afte r that I read the readme file in the 70, deleted dlls and inis, but double clicking the install for the XG70 still said I had a previous version installed. So I did what every SMART & WOLFY LIKE person would do- go to their site. Well seems that you cannot reinstall your previous software because Yamaha thinks it will be pirated (hehehehe...keep reading), so I downloaded the Trial version for the XG100 because I'm getting FF8..which s upports that. Now I am aware that this won't override the detect, saying I yet again cannot install because I have a previous version. I did a little browsing and found a GENERAL UNINSTALLER - http://www.yamaha-xg.com/ , then click on Questions on any item on the left bar -. So once you download this 700 ;kb file, very easy uninstall, it is automatic. NOW let's get to the yummy part of the XG-100 (as u know it's trial, but every file on wolfyserv er...). FIRST you need to download ALL 6 Disks. Put the on your desktop and double click everyone. You WILL SEE strange Characters (possibliy unrecognized japanense), and LISTEN CAREFULLY- they uncompress the files into your C:\WINDOWS\A_╜,─_I▀ directory. that's right, double click my computer, C:, and then Windows and then A_╜,─_I▀. go to the "DISK1" folder and click setup.exe . Now install it, and follow the directions. Now take the Syxg50v3.com file and put i n in C:WINDOWS/SYSTEM folder, and double click it. Patch successful.
